Grimsby Town Public Art Gallery ‘s book arts fair Wayzgoose 2021, like many things over this past year, was once more virtual and online.
Again it was disappointing not to be able to see the creativity and skill of the many artist and artisans and view in person the amazing books and prints they produce.
My entry this year, was a simple, and certainly not perfect, pop-up book made from a mixture of stock card and handmade paper. It is a reminder of the difficult year we have been through and a hope that soon we can all come together with ease, valuing and cherishing our community and relationships.
Wayzgoose 2021 was the 43rd year of the gathering of letterpress printers, bookbinders, print makers and paper makers. The 44th Wayzgoose has been announced for Saturday, April 30th 2022. Here’s hoping that next year we can all meet in Grimsby, Ontario!
